Olivier Grunewald is a French photographer and author, with the main focus on nature, landscapes and wildlife. He payed several visits to the mine (where they extract sulfur) in the crater of the volcano Kawah Lien in East Java, Indonesia, bringing in necessary equipment to capture surreal images lit by moonlight, torches and a blue flame of burning sulfur. Miners in the crater first raised at 2600 meters, then descend to the shore 200-meter crater lake of sulfuric acid, where they get chunks of pure sulfur and carry them back to the weighing station. Presenting 31 of his awesome takes that will surely blow your mind away. |

The Mama Shelter hotel in Paris is designed by Philippe Starck. The Mama Shelter hotel in Paris has fast become one of the most popular design hotels of the city. The size of the rooms are between 160 and 375 square feet. Here you do not have a boring reception hall or an cold aisle with the same type of facilities. Visitors are welcomed by a stage for live performances, a spacious dining room, where the tables are placed close to each other, which promotes a friendly atmosphere, and the abundance of colors and textures excites the imagination. |

Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects converted a historic XVIII century gunpowder mill into a modern office. This mill was a center for the production and research in the field of explosives until 1991. The Gunpowder Mill scheme involves the sensitive conversion of historic but derelict buildings and the addition of a new modern element on a site surrounded by woods and parkland. In the 18th Century, the Royal Gunpowder Mills housed the largest gunpowder works in Britain. Two early 19th Century buildings, the Power House and Water Tower, have been converted to form a new headquarters for the client, Hill Partnerships, while remaining faithful to the industrial history of the site. A new three-storey glazed structure completes the office complex and incorporates a top-floor terrace which links all three buildings and gives magnificent views out over the adjacent water meadows. |
